If you want, you can tell your employer why you’re leaving. This information tells the employer that you don’t have any hard feelings toward the company and are just leaving to pursue something else. Then, include a section in which you express your gratitude for your old position. Mention any positive aspects of the job. If you didn’t like the position, show your gratitude for the things you learned.
Finally, tell your employer how you plan to help out before you leave. If possible, offer to train your replacement. Let them know that you’re open to answering any questions they might have.
